Products
All of our products are imported directly from Georgia — one of the world’s oldest wine-producing regions with over 8,000 years of winemaking heritage. We source directly from producers who use traditional methods, including the ancient qvevri clay vessel fermentation technique which is UNESCO-protected.
Qvevri (also spelled kvevri) are large clay vessels buried underground, traditionally used in Georgia to ferment and store wine. The grapes — including skins, seeds, and sometimes stems — are placed inside and left to ferment naturally. This ancient method, dating back thousands of years, produces distinctive amber or “orange” wines with complex flavour profiles. The qvevri winemaking tradition is recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Yes — we stock a selection of certified organic wines and natural fermentation products within our range. You can find these in the Organic & Natural category in our shop.
Many of the products we stock are available exclusively through The Georgian Import Co in the UK, thanks to our direct relationships with Georgian producers. This means our customers can offer or enjoy something genuinely unique that cannot be found elsewhere on the British market.
Returns & Refunds
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to return goods within 14 days of receipt, provided they are unopened and in their original condition. Due to alcohol licensing laws, we cannot accept returns of opened or partially consumed products unless they are faulty. Please contact us to arrange a return before sending anything back.
Once we receive your returned goods and confirm they meet our return conditions, we will process your refund within 14 days back to your original payment method. For full details please see our Returns Policy.
If a product is faulty or not as described, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 fully apply. Contact us within 30 days for a full refund, or within 6 months for a repair, replacement, or partial refund. We will cover any collection costs for faulty goods.
Age Verification & Legal
It is a legal requirement in the UK that alcohol is only sold to persons aged 18 or over. We are required to verify the age of all visitors and customers before any products can be browsed or purchased. This is to comply with the Licensing Act 2003 and to protect young people.
If you didn’t select “Remember me on this device” during age verification, your confirmation is stored only for the current browser session and will reset when you close your browser. This is intentional — it protects against children accessing the site on shared or family devices. If you are the sole user of your device, simply tick the “Remember me” box to stay verified for 90 days.
We operate a Challenge 25 policy. If you appear to be under 25, our delivery partner may ask for one of the following forms of valid photographic ID:
- UK or international passport
- UK driving licence (full or provisional)
- PASS-accredited proof of age card
- HM Forces ID card
- National identity card
Expired documents or photocopies will not be accepted.
